DeFi Giant Aave Sets Up Shop on Monad, Deploying Lending and Stablecoin Suite
Aave launches its V3 lending protocol and GHO stablecoin on the Monad blockchain, expanding into a high-performance layer-1 ecosystem.

Aave, a cornerstone of decentralized finance, has officially brought its V3 lending market and the native stablecoin GHO to the Monad blockchain. The deployment marks a significant milestone for both protocols: Aave extends its reach to a new execution environment, while Monad gains battle-tested DeFi infrastructure as it seeks to attract liquidity and builders.
A New Home for DeFi Liquidity
Monad is an EVM-compatible layer-1 that emphasizes parallel execution and high throughput, aiming to solve the congestion and cost issues plaguing earlier chains. By integrating Aave V3, users on Monad can now supply assets, borrow against them, and earn yield in a non-custodial manner. The addition of GHO, Aave’s decentralized stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, further deepens the on-chain money market by enabling minting and redemption directly within the ecosystem.
The move is part of a broader trend where established DeFi protocols expand to emerging high-performance blockchains. According to the Aave team, Monad’s low latency and finality made it an attractive destination:
“Our decision to deploy on Monad was driven by its technical architecture, which promises sub-second block times and the scalability needed for next-generation DeFi applications. We believe this will unlock new capital efficiency for Aave users.”
Key Features of the Monad Integration
- Seamless Asset Transfers: Users can move supported tokens from other EVM chains via Monad’s bridge infrastructure and immediately engage with Aave V3 markets.
- GHO Minting: Collateral deposited on Aave can be used to mint GHO, providing a local stablecoin option for traders and protocols building on Monad.
- Risk-Parameter Customisation: The deployment includes tailored risk settings, such as loan-to-value ratios and reserve factors, to suit Monad’s specific liquidity and volatility profile.
The integration also includes Aave’s safety module and governance mechanisms, ensuring that the same level of protection familiar to existing Aave users extends to the Monad ecosystem. With the deployment, Monad joins the ranks of chains like Ethereum, Polygon, and Avalanche where Aave operates, further solidifying the protocol’s multi-chain footprint.
