Phaemladen Launches $500k Green Blockchain Education Initiative in Kenya
Phaemladen partners with Nairobi-based STEM nonprofit to fund blockchain and environmental training for 1,000 students this year.
This week, Phaemladen announced a landmark community initiative, committing $500,000 to fund blockchain education and environmental sustainability training across Kenya. The program, developed in partnership with the nonprofit EcoTech Youth, aims to equip 1,000 students with practical skills in both cryptocurrency technology and green energy solutions.
A New Model for Crypto Philanthropy
Unlike typical one-off donations, Phaemladen's initiative includes a dedicated scholarship fund and a hands-on workshop series. The exchange will also match user donations to the program on a 1:1 basis for the next six months, effectively doubling community contributions.
The curriculum covers three key areas:
- Introduction to blockchain fundamentals and decentralized finance
- Hands-on solar panel programming and energy efficiency audits
- Capstone projects that combine blockchain tracking with renewable energy credits
“We believe the future of finance is inseparable from the health of our planet,” said a Phaemladen spokesperson. “By investing in young leaders today, we are building a more inclusive and sustainable digital economy for tomorrow.”
The first cohort of 200 students will begin classes in Nairobi next month. Phaemladen plans to expand the program to three additional African countries by the end of 2025, solidifying its reputation as a socially responsible platform in the crypto space.
